Winter transforms the countryside into a soothing, almost suspended setting. The days are getting shorter slowly, the light is getting softer and nature spontaneously invites you to slow down. This year, the domain of Cabanes de La Réserve offers an ideal novelty to enjoy the charm of this season: the huts close during the week from November 22, but remain open every weekend (Friday and Saturday) until February 27, 2026. A great invitation for all those who have long dreamed of a timeless stay.

Located in Saint-Léger-aux-Bois, in Oise, the estate extends over 35 hectares of preserved nature, bordered by three ponds and surrounded by the Laigue forest. Only 1h15 from Paris and 20 minutes from Compiègne, it offers a total change of scenery without a long trip. Here, everything seems to be designed to return to a gentler rhythm, ideal for a winter nature stay.

A soft and warm break upon arrival

In winter, the experience starts at the reception where a steaming hot chocolate awaits visitors. Simple but comforting attention that immediately sets the tone for the weekend. The cabins are specially decorated for the season, with natural touches, enveloping materials and warm French wool plaids, in line with the estate's commitment to responsible materials.

All cabins are equipped with electric heaters, guaranteeing optimal comfort even when the air gets lively. Most offer a rare luxury in the middle of winter: a heated Nordic bath, nestled on the terrace, facing nature. Thanks to the Altipure ecological system, it promises an incomparable moment of relaxation, enveloped in hot steam while the forest falls asleep around you.

Gourmet and comforting winter dinners

After a day in the great outdoors, there's nothing better than a comforting dinner. Les Cabanes de La Réserve offer hot and seasonal meals, with emblematic winter dishes on the menu: raclette, fondue, or gourmet baskets made from local products. The estate values short circuits and collaborates with several producers in the region: artisan bread, farm cheeses, apple juice, local honey...

Dinners, such as breakfasts and brunches, are discreetly placed at the foot of each cabin. All that remains is to enjoy them, warm, facing the ponds or the winter forest.

Discover the three types of cabins: an inspiring immersion in nature

Les Cabanes de La Réserve now offers three worlds of accommodation, each offering a unique way to experience a winter weekend in a cabin.

The perched huts

Hanging about five meters from the ground, The perched huts offer a feeling of freedom and height. From their terrace, the view opens wide onto the treetops, the clearing or the sleeping forest. In winter, the atmosphere is particularly magical: the silence seems deeper and you feel really isolated, as if suspended above the world. Some have a Nordic bath to enjoy cool nights under the stars.

The huts on stilts

Installed directly at the edge of the ponds, The huts on stilts offer a peaceful experience, punctuated by the lapping of water. These bright nests have a bathroom, sometimes a kitchen area, a terrace above the water and, for many, a private Nordic bath. In winter, morning mist often envelops the ponds, creating a soft, almost cinematic atmosphere.

The cabins on the ground

More accessible, ground huts plunge visitors into the heart of nature. Some are installed on the edge of a pond, others in wooded areas. These shacks embody the essence of a winter stay: calm, authenticity and a return to the essentials. The Spa Ambre and Colorado cabins are closed this winter.

Simple activities to make the most of winter

In winter, the estate reveals a peaceful rhythm that invites both rest and exploration. The paths that wind between the ponds and the trees offer beautiful walks, ideal for watching birds or enjoying the silence of the forest.

Families also enjoy the small farm, the board games available, and the warm relaxing moments in their cabin.
In the surrounding area, visitors can discover the Compiègne forest, the Château de Pierrefonds, or even the charming surrounding villages, which take on an even more magical atmosphere in winter.

A winter weekend that's easy to organize, without taking time off

Because the estate remains open only on Fridays and Saturdays, it becomes very easy to take a break without disturbing your schedule. Only 1 hour 15 minutes from Paris, it is the perfect place to escape for a weekend, breathe in the fresh air, enjoy a hot dinner and fall asleep in the heart of nature.
